Behind the mask

Meet Kayla
Co-Founder and CMO
Kayla Vergara was inspired to create a line of skincare that benefited both the skin and the environment. From a young age, she struggled to find products that were gentle enough on her sensitive skin but also provided effective benefits for her skin concerns. After trying numerous products, she noticed that product formulas that incorporated high concentrations of natural ingredients were the most effective. However, there were few brands that offered such a range of ingredients and fewer that were mindful of the sustainability of their packaging. Therefore, Kayla developed Faceit to connect her passion for skincare and environmental sustainability to provide a skincare solution for those who share the needs.

Meet ryan
Co-Founder and Chairman
Ryan Sasaki is currently a senior marketing student at the University of San Francisco. He is originally from Oahu, Hawaii where his passion for the environment has been forged through his hobbies in nature. He loves surfing, bodyboarding, and hiking and has seen our beaches and even our forests slowly being overtaken by waste. Ryan wants future generations to be able to enjoy the same beaches and mountains that he was able to experience, and that is why he values sustainability.
Meet sonja
Co-Founder and Designer
Sonja Angst is a junior Design major with a minor in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Sonja was born in Hawaii and raised on the island of Molokai, where she learned how sustainability is very important for our environment. Sonja also does a light skin care routine, but has noticed that most of the branding and packaging of these products are neither sustainable nor gender neutral. The package design is tailored towards mostly women and so Sonja wanted to change that through Face It, while using sustainable packaging.
