Ilia is a brand that is outstanding in this area and has partnered with TerraCycle. Ilia is a beauty company that is focused on creating products that will both protect and revive your skin, while being transparent in the sourcing of their materials and the lifecycle of their products. TerraCycle offers a range of robust recycling services that would allow everyone to “#RecycleEverything”. Their aim is to change the way people think about waste and ultimately eliminate the idea of waste.

Ilia is utilizing TerraCycle’s Zero Waste Box platform to recycle everything, especially “hard-to-recycle” products, which are commonplace in skin care and cosmetics. The Zero Waste Box platform also provides packaging that is 100% recyclable.

Ilia also sources their materials that are safe and sustainable for both the environment and the product. Their efforts for sustainability do not stop there. Through their partnership with TerraCycle they will voluntarily recycle up to five empty beauty products per person, per month. The products can be from any brand and Ilia & TerraCycle will break it down responsibly so that it does not end up in a landfill.
